South Pop Warner Youth Football, Cheer, and Little Scholars (SPWYFCLS) has been actively servicing the community and youth (ages 5-14) of South Phoenix for over 30 years. Our organization consists of teams in the South Mountain Village, Ahwatukee and Laveen area. We focus on scholastics and athleticism with an emphasis on community involvement.  All football and cheer participants must be in good academic standing.  Participants with scholastic scores of 90% or higher are recognized locally and those with a 96% or higher are eligible for our league’s national recognition in which they can compete for college scholarships.  One of the key scholarship requirements is to demonstrate community involvement while maintaining their scholastic scores and athletic involvement.  The league teaches more than just how to play football and cheerlead. It is an opportunity to teach lifelong skills such as self-confidence, self-respect, responsibility, dependability, discipline, and the value of teamwork.
